Print and Digital Designs for Shamrock Home Loans

A collection of flyer and social media designs for Shamrock Home Loans

My Time at Shamrock Home Loans

In September of 2022, I began working at Shamrock Home Loans as a Graphic Designer and Content Publisher. Shamrock Home Loans is a mortgage company based in East Providence, Rhode Island, with satellite offices and loan officers across the country. All at Shamrock dedicate themselves to the company's core values and the firm belief that everyone deserves to live in a home they love. Much of the media produced by Shamrock aims to keep potential buyers and homeowners informed and confident about their mortgage options.

I worked within a small marketing team in the East Providence headquarters, which consisted of a marketing director, marketing specialist, graphic designers, and a videographer/photographer. We worked off of an existing style guide to create printed and digital content for our loan officers to use, as well as for us to place on our corporate channels. We also supported company-run events by making the necessary signage, promotions, and printed items.

While my role was one of several ended in November 2023 due to the company's acquisition by CMG, I am extremely grateful to Shamrock and everyone I had the pleasure to work alongside and support. This was my first journey in the corporate world, and it provided me with many invaluable experiences.

As a part of the in-house marketing team, I completed various creative tasks. I was responsible for:

  • Creating new print and social media post designs for marketing campaigns, program information, industry news/updates, events, or internal communications
  • Updating existing design files with updated loan officer/realtor information
  • Managing and adding content to both the existing website and company's internal intranet dashboard
  • Proofreading designed material
  • Attending marketing meetings
  • Narrating and editing internal tutorial videos for loan officers
  • Writing or editing blog posts
  • Communicating with other internal staff outside of the marketing department when needed in order to obtain project objectives and send deliverables

I had multiple projects assigned to me at any given time.  I worked alongside other designers and marketing specialists. Tasks were divided up between the members of the team, and we all had to communicate effectively to make sure all projects for our loan officers and company were completed and accurate.

Programs used: Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Canva, Teamwork, Microsoft Teams, Adobe Premiere Pro, etc.

Examples of Printed Materials

I often created various printed materials for loan officers and realtors, such as flyers, postcards, and notecards. I primarily used Adobe InDesign for these tasks.

(Design notes: The first two flyers have white space at the bottom, as I needed to leave space for loan officer branding to be placed through the CRM they utilized. The red/gray flyer and postcard use the colors for HomeSmart, as one of our loan officers partnered with a HomeSmart realtor; we often created co-branded materials for loan officers and realtors).

Examples of Social Media

Below are a number of examples of social media posts I designed for Shamrock. Most of our static posts focused on informing prospective home buyers on their mortgage options and the industry, as well as celebrating holidays or other days of recognition. I made most social posts using Canva, but I did not use their templates, merely their stock photos, special type treatments, and small graphical assets; overall composition is my own.
